A record for every device
Name, room, brand and model, purchase date and warranty end date. Adding one takes a minute or two, and you can find it again by room or by name.
HomeKind gives every device in your house one place to live on your phone: what it is, which room it's in, when you bought it and when the warranty runs out, with the manual and the receipt saved alongside. So when the dishwasher finally breaks, everything you need is already there.
Free, for iPhone and Android. No account, no cloud and nothing to set up.
Screens from HomeKind.
Manuals, receipts and warranty cards usually end up scattered across drawers, inboxes and old folders. HomeKind keeps them together, by device.

Attach the manual as a PDF and the receipt as a photo, whether it's one you already have or one you take on the spot. Each stays with the device it belongs to.
Open the app and you'll see which warranties end in the next 90 days, or have already expired, before anything else. Fewer of them lapse without anyone noticing.
Export everything as a single zip file and save it with the share sheet to iCloud Drive, Google Drive or your phone's Files app. Bring it back on a new phone, and HomeKind shows you what will change before anything is replaced.
HomeKind does one job: it holds on to the details of the things in your house, so nobody has to carry them in their head. Everything else was left out of this first version.
HomeKind doesn't read, summarise or answer questions about your manuals. We'd like a later paid version to help with things like answering a question from a device's own manual, but that isn't built yet, and this version doesn't include it.
HomeKind is for phones, iPhone and Android. There's no tablet layout yet.
