HomeKind privacy
Everything stays on your phone
This statement covers the HomeKind app for iPhone and Android. The wattkind.ai website has its own short privacy summary.
The short version
HomeKind stores everything you enter — device names, rooms, purchase and warranty dates, and any photos or manuals you attach — on your phone, and nowhere else. It sends nothing to WattKind AI or to anyone else. There is no account and no sign-in, because HomeKind has nothing to attach an account to. If you export a backup, that backup is a file you choose where to save, and it stays under your control from that point on — we never see it.
Data not collected
On the App Store, HomeKind's privacy label is Data Not Collected, for every category. In plain terms:
- HomeKind makes no network requests. There is no server, no backend and no cloud storage.
- There is no analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking of any kind, and no advertising.
- There is no account, sign-in, or identifier that links you across sessions or devices.
- Your device records and attached files stay in the app's own storage on your phone.
Your backups
The only way anything leaves HomeKind is a backup you export yourself: a single zip file, saved with the share sheet to a place you choose, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive or your phone's Files app. That is you moving your own information, not HomeKind collecting it. Once it's saved, it's yours to keep, move or delete, and it only comes back into HomeKind if you import it.
If your phone itself is backed up, an iPhone to iCloud or a computer, or an Android phone to your Google account, that device backup may include HomeKind's data along with your other apps. That is part of your own arrangement with Apple or Google, and we never see it.
Removing your information
You can delete a device, a single attachment, or everything in HomeKind from within the app, with a confirmation first. Deleting the app removes its data from your phone. Backups you have exported are separate files, so delete those wherever you saved them.
If this changes
If a later version of HomeKind ever sends anything off your phone, we'll update this statement before that version is released and say plainly what is sent, where and why.
